My name is Linda Herman and I am delighted to be the Director of the brand-new preschool at Kings Bay Y at North Brooklyn. It has been wonderful creating a community with the children and families of North Williamsburg and Greenpoint. We are so proud of our exciting progressive, pluralistic preschool based on Jewish values and open to families of all background.
Our preschool for children ages 2 to 5 opened its doors October 2013 in the beautiful new Kings Bay Y at North Williamsburg & Greenpoint annex at 14 Hope Street (between Roebling and Havemeyer Streets). We offer an innovative and nurturing curriculum that combines the Reggio Emilia and Bank Street approaches along with music, art, Jewish cultural activities and enrichment in Hebrew and Russian.
I have been an Early Childhood educator and administrator for the past 25 years at public and private schools throughout the metropolitan area, including the Brooklyn Friends School, Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, Riverside Church Pre-School and most recently as the Director of the Christ Church Nursery School in Greenwich, CT. I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from the Bank Street College of Education and a sixth-year certificate in Administration from the College of Staten Island.
I feel strongly that the Kings Bay Y at North Williamsburg & Greenpoint preschool should be a loving and caring place for children and families. I want children to explore, take risks, create, make new friends, become independent learners and be excited to come to school every day. I want families to know that my door is always open, your ideas are always appreciated and there is no question that is too small when it is about your child. Feel free to reach out to me to at
or at (718) 403-6388.
I thank you in advance for welcoming me to the Kings Bay Y at North Williamsburg & Greenpoint family and I look forward to meeting all of you very soon.
Linda Herman, M.Ed.
